FAQs

What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, fitted clothing without zippers (zippers can damage our equipment). Tie long hair up and secure it. No street shoes are allowed in the studio—practice barefoot or wear grip socks for better traction.

Do I need prior experience to start Pilates?
No experience necessary! We work with all fitness levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. All new Studio17 clients begin with our 'Getting Started' package—two private 1:1 sessions that build a strong foundation in Classical Pilates. This ensures you practice safely and get the most from every class you take with us.

What to expect at your first session:

  • Arrive 10 minutes early

  • Complete a brief health questionnaire and waiver

  • Discuss your goals and any physical considerations with your instructor

  • Begin learning Classical Pilates fundamentals

What's the difference between classical and contemporary Pilates?
Classical Pilates follows Joseph Pilates' original method and exercise order on traditional apparatus. It emphasizes the complete system he created, focusing on full-body integration and his specific sequencing principles

Do you offer 1:1 private training?
Yes! Private sessions are offer personalized attention trailed to your goals and needs. All new clients begin with private sessions through our “Getting Started” package, and many continue with private training for ongoing customized instruction. If you’re interested, please submit the contact or reach out directly.

When should I arrive for class?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled class time. This gives you time to settle in, speak with your instructor about any concerns, and be ready to start on time.

What if I’m running late?
Classes begin promptly, and late arrivals (more than 10 minutes) may not be admitted to protect the flow of class and everyone's safety. If you're running late, please contact us as soon as possible.

What’s your cancellation policy?
Classes must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to receive full credit. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows will result in forfeiture of that session. We understand plans change, but timely cancellations allow others on the waitlist to attend.
